Oakwood's Group Exercise program offers a variety of Pilates inspired classes for all members to participate in.
Floor work classes held in the group exercise studios are FREE
Gentle Pilates, Toning & Stretch
This class is designed for the individual in need of a gentle approach to Pilates with emphasis on toning and core strengthening. This entry-level class allows you time to learn basic pilates exercises. Light weights may be used. Some stretches will be included.
Focuses on core strength and spinal flexibility to develop a powerful 'core'. This method, developed by Joseph Pilates, trains the entire body & mind while emphasizing proper alignment and posture, effective body mechanics, correct breathing, improved circulation, and relief of chronic pain and stress.
Pilates on the Ball
Take you core training to the next level by combining traditional Pilates mat exercises with the balance challenge of the ball. A perfect workout geared towards the intermediate to advanced participant.
This class focuses on identifying and improving muscular and postural imbalances through myofascial release, active stretching, joint mobilization, core stabilization, and integration exercises. Some Pilates exercises will be included throughout class. Suitable for all fitness levels.
